NYS DOH Launches e-Cigarette Cessation Media Campaign for Young People The New York State Department of Health has initiated an important digital media campaign aimed at helping our youth and young adults quit vaping. With nearly 1 in 5 high school students in New York currently using e-cigarettes, this initiative addresses a critical health concern. The campaign promotes a free, anonymous text-based service called "This is Quitting," developed by the Truth Initiative. By texting "DropTheVape" to 88709, users receive personalized support messages to assist them in their journey to quit vaping. This innovative approach will be featured across popular social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, as well as streaming services like Twitch, to effectively reach its target audience. Additionally, the New York State Quitline continues to offer free coaching and nicotine replacement therapy for those trying to quit any tobacco products, including e-cigarettes. We encourage you to share this information with young people in your life who may be struggling with vaping addiction. Together, we can support healthier choices in our community.
